Our garden is like a giant pet that needs constant upkeep. From the time the ground thaws you are weeding, hoeing, boosting the compost in the beds, planting, de-bugging in an organic way (VERY time consuming) and watering. It inspired the following:

ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful beds...34?? Wow. Steph, it doesn't rain during the summer and you still need to water? Anyway, I see you struggling with that coil hose. There is no hose in the world I've found that is easy...they either get a kink a half mile away and you have to go back and unkink for a half hour, or the coiled ones get too coiled. Best of luck with all your fruit and vegetables!

ReplyDeleteI've thought sprinklers or perforated hoses might make things simpler but John is a gardening Luddite. I'd like a more modern wheelbarrow, too!
Steph, no garden this year, just flowers. It turned out we got so much rain and it was so cool (10-20ยบ's cooler and twice as much rain), so just as well I didn't plan on tomatoes and such. Besides, we live on a hill of rock. I'll just wait to see how spectacular your vegetables are.
